About Us
Welcome! Let us tell you a little about ourselves. Gunter Manchen is the founder and inspiration behind Euro Pianos Naples. Born in Halle, Germany, the birthplace of Händel, Gunter spent his formative years studying the piano and organ. He and his wife, Gisela, welcomed their daughters Susanna and Christiane in Ueberlingen. It was here that Gunter honed his pipe organ and piano restoration skills. The ornate chapels and cathedrals dotting the countryside served as his inspiration.
Immigrating to Toronto, Canada in 1965, Gunter established himself as a master concert technician and piano rebuilder. In time it naturally followed that he began to sell pianos. A successful partnership with fellow master technician Wayne Chen resulted in the creation of Piano & Keyboard Centre in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
With the opening of Euro Pianos Naples in September 2001, Southwest Florida became home to one of the finest collections of European pianos. Gunter and Gisela poured their energies into serving the community with their pianos. They supported fledgling arts and music organizations with great joy. Sadly, suddenly, Gunter passed away on January 30, 2011.
Today, in the care of Gisela, Euro Pianos Naples is growing from strength to strength with renewed vitality and vision.
